DISTRIBUTION
High up on mountains in the Eastern Cape.
CHARACTERS
This has glabrous leaves and lacks root-hairs on the stems, unlike A.
cristatus, which has similarly shaped leaves. Juvenile
leaves can be broad with a long margin.
CULTIVATION
Straightforward, with fibrous roots.
COMMENTS
This beautiful species has very thick, knobbly stems with age.
