DISTRIBUTION
Nuweveldberge, Robertson-Worcester Karoo, Little Karoo to S. Willowmore.

CHARACTERS
Spindle-shaped leaves on trailing weak stems with stilt-roots.

CULTIVATION
Rampant! Best grown in a hanging basket, where it cannot invade neighbouring pots.

COMMENTS
Northern forms e.g from Theekloof, S. Fraserburg, are more upright and fragile. Are they related to A. liebenbergii or roanianus?

This was called A. mammillaris until Tölken reviewed the herbarium type sheets.

A. filicaulis subsp. marlothii creeping around upon sandstone rocks at Lemoenpoort, S. Worcester.

Subsp. marlothii creeping around upon recent gravel terraces, SW. Laingsburg.
