A. cristatus, Gamtoos Bridge, N
Jeffrey’s Bay. |
CHARACTERS
Usually distinguished from other Adro.
species by aerial root hairs on its stems
(except vars. mzimvubuensis
& zeyheri). The typical
variety has a broad, usually wavy, horny
margin across the leaf tip, leaves 1 to
1½ times as long as wide, with glabrous
inflorescences and flowers.
COMMENTS
This underrated species is very variable,
compact and it is worth growing a lot of
samples. Some have good dark red
markings, others exaggerated wavy leaf
margins. |
